Performance-Based Diagnosis & Assessment
Focused on identifying the root cause and optimizing how you move and perform
Assessment and diagnosis are approached with a clear focus: identifying the root cause of pain and performance limitations—not just the symptoms.
Each assessment begins with a detailed history to understand injury background, training demands, and individual goals. This is followed by a structured physical examination, including joint mobility testing, strength assessment, and targeted orthopedic or neurological testing when indicated.
The assessment process includes the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Systems™ Screen — a movement-based diagnostic system used in professional and high-performance sport settings. This approach breaks down movement patterns to uncover the true source of dysfunction, whether driven by mobility restrictions, stability deficits, or compensatory strategies. (Learn more about FMS™)
For runners and active individuals, gait and movement analysis are integrated to evaluate biomechanics and loading patterns, allowing for more precise treatment and exercise prescription.
Care is built on a structured, evidence-based system designed to deliver efficient, results-driven outcomes while avoiding unnecessary treatment. When appropriate, ongoing care is used strategically—whether to support athletes managing high training loads, help individuals maintain a high level of activity as they age, or manage chronic conditions—with a focus on long-term function, performance, and resilience.
